Abstract :
The aim of this study is to identify methicillin resistent Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA) and Methicillin-Sensitive Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA) from nasal mucosaof the dog. MRSA can be zoonosis. Five of the fifteen samples have characteristicsStaphylococcus aureus; spherical, Gram-positive, mannitol fermenting, produces catalase, coagulase and acetyl methyl carbinol. Antibiotics used were penicillin, erytromycin, oxacillin, gentamycin and cefoperazone. The results of this study found positive samples of Methicillin ResistantStaphylococcus aureus (MRSA) by 60% and Methicillin-Sensitive Staphylococcusaureus (MSSA) by 40 %. It showed that MRSA from nasal mucosa of the dog can foundin higher precentation than MSSA and need evaluation control for antibiotic treatment.
