Abstract :

Given the problems faced by Indonesian forestry and often associated with bad image to preserve the forest, make Indonesia determined to change its mindset. Illegal logging and legal timber trade became a main focus in solving problems of forestry in Indonesia. Indonesia took EU as regional organization partner in considering issues of environmental degradation.Indonesia sees EU as a succsessfull organization because it has a number of policies to address these issues and Indonesia hopes to  creating a good forest governance together with EU. Through international cooperation agreement FLEGT-VPA, Indonesia hopes to solve the problem of illegal logging and legal timber exports to the importing countries. Thus, this research answered the insistence of Indonesia in establishing cooperation agreements FLEGT-VPA between Indonesia and the European Union in the light of the problems of forest that divided into the supply-driven and demand-driven.
