Abstract :

Increasingly strong international urgency in overcoming environmental issues led to various forms of cooperation between international countries to be able to find solutions to environmental problems that occur due to the acceleration of modernity and increased consumption patterns of society. One of these environmental issues is the issue of climate change caused by deforestation. One form of cooperation in this deforestation problem is that Norway is still working on REDD + cooperation with Indonesia in order to remain to be able to run the interests of the country that is in harmony between the economic interests of the country generated by the drilling of petroleum with the environmental interest is the stability of the earth climate owned by Norway. Therefore, one of the efforts to reduce carbon dioxide emissions in the earth is to improve forest function and reduce deforestation activities, this role is appropriate for the State of Indonesia which is a country with large forest area and high deforestation problems, The successful reduction of deforestation in Indonesia's forests undertaken through REDD + cooperation between Norway and Indonesia has directly shown that Norway has achieved its importance in maintaining climate stability through reducing deforestation
