Abstract :
The rise of sea level was the impact of global warming being a threat to the Southwest Pacific region. Those countries became highlyvulnerable to the threat of the sinking of their island nation.This phenomenon then encourages people in this region to migrate to another country that is considered safe from the threat of drowning in an effort to sustain themselves. In recent decades, Australia was a country that became the main destination for migration communities in the Southwest Pacific region to maintain their survival, especially for workers who coming from the Southwest Pacific region. Australia became the main destination for migration in the Southwest Pacific region was influenced by various factors, such as the good welfare, safe from the threat of sinking due to climate change, domestic stability as well as employment opportunities were great. But in the past few years, Australia implemented a tightening policy such limits as a form of border security policy and economic interests through Skillselect policy. This thing of course has implications for countries in the Southwest Pacific region that makes Australia a major destination of their migration. Fiji, as one of the countries in the Southwest Pacific region, with the largest number of migrations to Australia compared with other countries in the region, proved capable of facing Australia Skillselect policy through bilateral migration agreements strategies. The bilateralstrategy of migration agreements has become the most strategic option by Fiji in the face of Australia's tightening policy through Skillselect is influenced by several factors,those are economic factors, factors range cooperation and regional agreements ineffectiveness.
