Abstract :
This research described the victory of AMISOM taken control strategic cities in Somalia. Such as Mogadishu, Kismayo, Baidoa, and Belet Weyne. The backgorund of this research based on security conditions in Somalia after the attempt of Al-Shabaab built Islamic country based on sharia laws. But, along with time, Al-Shabaab grew as threatening security forces in Somalia and spread the terror not only in Somalia but also overseas to prove their excistency. To avoid further bad condition, African Union decided to form peace keeping mission in Somalia named AMISOM to drive out Al-Shabaab. Thus, creating a condition called asymmetric warfare between AMISOM and Al-Shabaab. The deploy of AMISOM considered be a triumph because AMISOM succeed to take control over Somalia’s strategic cities. With interaction strategy approach developed by Ivan Arreguin-Toft, this research analyzed stategy used by AMISOM retake cities controlled by Al-Shabaab.
