Abstract :

This study aims to determine whether there are differences in learning style characteristics activists, reflectors, theorists and pragmatists on teachers in terms of subject matter. Subject were 326 teachers of junior and senior high school in Surabaya. Collecting data using the survey  method, measuring of learning style using Learning Style Questionnaire (LSQ) from Honey and Mumford (1992). Analysis data using non-parametric statistical analysis with Kruskal Wallis test techniques, followed by analytical methods with U-Mann Whitney using software SPSS 16 for Windows. The results shows the p-value for the group of activists scores 0.03; p-value for thescore group reflector 0.50; p-value for score group theorists 0.641 and p-value for score group pragmatic 0.187. Four learning styles p value indicates value < 0.05 was the group of activist learning style. This suggests that there are differences in activists learning style characteristics in terms of the teacher subject matter. However, the other three learning styles (reflectors, theorists and pragmatists) didn't show differences. Activist learning style differences were significant between the groups of technologies and civics teacher that have a higher tendency than the groups of teacher in subject of social science, math, religion, physical and language.
