Abstract :
This paper departs from issues on why women are so vocal in voicing the issue of the impact of the US nuclear tests in the Marshall Islands. This becomes problematic because of the impact that occurs as a result of nuclear weapons testing not only happen to women, but occurs in the entire population of RMI. From the above problems, this paper explore the factors that encourage female to be vocal in doing these movements, using ecofeminist perspective and study of ecofeminist rhetoric. As for the theoretical study, women were more vocal in their role because women were the most affected, especially in the health problems caused by the US oppression in the form of nuclear tests. Besides the role of women RMI is also based on matrilineal social system that demands women to be responsible as stewards, and uphold the neighborhood as a place to stay that has a value of spiritual, cultural, and material. Their shared experience of suffering oppression on the women RMI form various movements with the same vision that demands responsibility and simultaneously warn the United States and also other countries that develop nuclear weapons.
