Abstract :
In today's public service can not be separated from public life . Public service is a service provided by the government aims to meet the needs of the community . One form of public services provided by the government is the existence of a public library in every area . Meeting the needs of information and education to the community will also be helped by the local public library . The existence of local public libraries are expected to also be able to enhance the flavor like reading for the community . Therefore, through this study the authors wanted to measure and determine people's satisfaction with services of Library and Archives Lamongan regency by the Minister of State for Administrative Reform KEP/KEP/25/M.PAN/2/2004 number of community satisfaction index ( HPI ) with reference to the fourteen indicators of tools to measure community satisfaction index . Researchers using quantitative descriptive method with purposive sampling . With the spread of questionnaires to the respondents as many as 90 people . From the analysis of the data found that the number of community satisfaction index in the Library and Archives of Lamongan District is 72.57 with the title Good . Fourteen elements as indicators of community satisfaction index all achieved the Good . However, with the results expected to be too fast for complacency , because the research that has been done , the researchers also found that the problem can not be taken lightly . Therefore need to be held to the improvement of existing service deficiencies in the Library and Archives of Lamongan Regency satisfaction kedepanya community in accessing and utilizing their libraries .
