Abstract :
This study aims to know determine the effect of leadership style on the performance of the research librarians and want to know how much influence the style of leadership in non-profitseperti library. This study also want to know which leadership style is more dominant use in libraries of the universities in this surabaya.Penelitian validity and reliability test results can be said to be valid and reliable. Measurement of variables to test the hypothesis using the F test and test of determination (R2). For the F-test results obtained in this study calculated F value = 2.955 and the value of F table = 2.74 and a significance value of 0.039 <0.05. Thus it can be concluded that there is significant influence (real) between leadership style (democratic, authoritarian and free) on the performance of librarians in public university libraries in surabaya.Sementara the results of the calculation of the coefficient of determination (R2) shows the variation of the dependent variable that can be explained by independent variables together at 0,118. That is as much as 11.8% variable librarian performance can be explained by the variables of leadership style. The remaining 88.2% is explained by other variables outside variables analyzed in this study
