Abstract :

This study describes the employee's perception of the career field of archives based on attribution theory. This research uses descriptive quantitative research methods that take a research location in archives and records center at the University of Gadjah Mada. The samples used were 58 respondents in all work units contained archival field employees. Attribution theory used to take the focus of the elements of observation and interpretation of the attitude of the consesus, distincviness and consistency. Results of the study found that employees in the archival field observation element see a career in the field of archives as a promising career for the welfare of employees and a career in the field of archives is a new challenge which can be developed for the further development of archival science. The element of interpretation illustrates that the majority of the field of archives employee attitudes consistent with the state of the work environment, employee attitudes field of archives in line with the existing career although in various units there are different categories of employees and benefits received for the welfare of employees. This attitude occurs varies in point consensus, distinctiveness and consistency given the statement in accordance with the employee career paths field of archives
