Abstract :

The aim of this research is to characterize of Insulin - like Growth Factor – I (IGF-I) Complex seminal plasma of goat and to find out the ratio glycoprotein : protein : carbohydrate. Characterization of IGF-I Complex was conducted using SDS-PAGE, Glycoprotein Staining and Western Blot while concentration of carbohydrat of IGF-I Complex was measured by using Glycoprotein Carbohydrate Estimation Kit Pierce (No.Cat 23260) and Biuret method by spectrophotometry. The result indicated that IGF-I Complex seminal plasma of goat was glycoprotein with molecular weight 150.288 kDa. Ratio of glycoprotein : protein : carbohydrate was 4 : 2 : 2. It was concluded that IGF-I Complex seminal plasma of goat was glycoprotein.
