Abstract :
This study evaluated the hematologic changes in catfish (Clarias gariepinus) was infected by Aeromonas hydrophila. The parameters observed in this study was the Red Cells Count (erythrocyte), hematocrit, and hemoglobinfrom catfish infected by Aeromonas hydrophila. Infection by injection the bacteria in 0,1 mL per dose on each catfish. The concentration of bacteria used were 105, 106, 107 cells/mL. A week after infection, blood samples were obtained from caudal artery. erythrocyte, hematocrit, and hemoglobinwere carried out with the collected blood samples. The results showed there was significant decrease (P<0,05) in the number of erythrocyte when compared with control (P0). The number of hematocrit and hemoglobin were not significant decrease (P>0,05).
