Abstract :
Forest on Borneo island has suffered severe damage. One cause of such damage is the act of illegal logging. Especially in the border region of East Kalimantan with Malaysia which has a case of illegal logging is quite high. Because the problem is difficult to overcome, the three countries that have territory on the island of Borneo, Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam held a trilateral cooperation in the environmental field called the "Heart of Borneo (HoB)". Cooperation between countries is analyzed using the theory of International Cooperation, the concept of environmental security and sustainable development concept. Which this cooperation refers to cooperation to protect the environment by using sustainable basis. With a range of research from 2007 which is the time of the signing until 2010. Once the existence of the agreement, the number of cases of illegal logging has decreased compared to what happened before the HoB. This is due to the cooperation of the three countries, especially Indonesia and Malaysia are increasingly tightened vigil in the border region of East Kalimantan of Indonesia itself and also in Malaysia, as well as other cooperation projects that support the development of forest on the island of Borneo.
