Abstract :
The purpose of the study was to find out the potential of feed as the source of contaminating Aspergillusspecies causing Fowl Aspergillosis. The study used 30 feed samples taken from several traditional poultry shops. Thesamples were grown on Sabouraud's Dextrose Agar (SDA) and incubated at a temperature of 37oC during 3 to 5 days. The growing colonies were identified based on the colour of the colonies and microscopic morphology withLactophenol Cotton Blue Stain. The result of the study showed that the pathogenic Aspergillus species wereAspergillus fumigatus (53.33%), Aspergillus flavus (30%), and Aspergillus niger (10%). In conclusion, the feed was apotential source of contaminating Aspergillus spesies causing Fowl Aspergillosis.
