Abstract :
This study examines and understanding about information literacy in patients with chronic diseases (HIV/AIDS). Information literacy is discussed in general by taking into account the important points in the understanding of information literacy itself as a problem solving will need the information in dealing with the illness so that patients are able to process and take action in tackling the disease itself very well, with not only rely the expert doctor to treat the disease. According to the researchers of this study is important to do because it is expected to provide detailed descriptions of the reality of what happened in our society about the importance of information literacy in particular information needs, someone who has a chronic illness are at great risk and can’t survive (survive) with time a long time. In the present study found a variety of motives that drive patients to social action is that information literacy has many benefits both for themselves and for others the results of literacy. So it can also find out and can be made in the extent to which benchmarks can be said of our society as a society are aware of the information and be able to choose the sources of information that is credible, timely and accurate that can be used as a reference in seeking and fulfilling the required information. This study used a qualitative type refers to the paradigm that is based on the focus intrepetive problems and interests of researchers.
