Abstract :

Norway has one of the best destinations for immigrants from Africa and the Middle  East. It  turns  out  that  the  arrival  of  the  immigrants  raises  thedisappointment  of  Norwegians  against  the  ruling  government.  The disappointment is shown by an attitude of discrimination and anti-immigrant.The researcher intends to find out how the rising anti-immigrant response in Norway may occur while on the other side, the Norwegian Government seeksto open to the presence of immigrants. The problems are analyzed using socio economic factors as the main cause of the rise of anti-immigrant response. Insocial factor, there are some concerns toward the threatened national identity as well as the persistence of xenophobia against Moslem immigrants. While inthe  economic  factor,  there  are  some  concerns  about the  economic  security  of employment in Norwegian society. Based on the analysis of these data, it couldbe  concluded  that  the  presence  of  anti-immigrant  response  is  caused  by  fear that  the  national  identity  is  threatened  and  as  a  step  in  maintainingemployment for the Norwegian.
