Abstract :
Airlangga University Library is a library that has implemented a Library Orientation activities for each new student who will be studying in the college. Library orientation activities organized by the library is the delivery of content on the profile library, library opening hours, services available through the library, facilities owned by the library, the types of library collections, as well as the borrowing procedure library collection. With the expected activities of the library orientation library users, especially new students will be able to utilize any library services to the maximum. Therefore, researchers wanted to know whether there is any influence on the effectiveness of orientation activities to use library services at the Library Univeritas Airlangga. In this study using the theory of Organizational Effectiveness by Hari Lubis and Martani Huseini , as well as the materials provided at the time of library orientation. The sampling technique used in this study is a nonprobability sampling or non-random sampling. By using purposive sampling or quota sampling and quantitative methods used explanative. Effectiveness of library orientation activities as measured by the 3 approaches . Of the three approaches obtained excellent results seen in source Resource Approach considered to be very effective with a percentage of 86.24%, then the Process Approach considered to be very effective with a percentage of 85.75%. Furthermore, Goals Approach considered tobe very effective with presentase 87, 49%. Then in the utilization of the services performed by the respondents classified as moderate. On the utilization response was obtained by 40% of respondents, next to the corner service utilization categories were also obtained by 46% of respondents. Then from the results of the regression analysis of variables (X) The effectiveness of library orientation activities affect the variable (Y) Utilization of library services was 17,1%. and after adjusting for the residual value of 82.1% is influenced by other variables not included in this study.
