Abstract :
This paper tries to contributions made by the UN Women towards efforts by Thailand’s government in overcoming women trafficking in Thailand. Involvement of UN Women upon this problem was caused by Thailand’s government failure in preventing the fall of more victims in human trafficking, particularly women, therefore, there’s urgency for the cooperation between Thailand and other countries or non-state entities. Cooperations formed between Thailand and UN Women by ratifying CEDAW Convention. One of the concepts brought in this paper is international regime. According to the problems in highlighted in this research, the theory that will be used is Functional Theory which explains the behaviour and the influence it brings concerning particular institution. This theory observe for times the regime is needed, thus they see regime as a response whether it is important or not towards a need for a regime. Meanwhile, Cognitive Theory observe how the behaviour of an actor that doesn’t formed by their material interest, but by their role in the society instead. Results of the CEDAW Convention that was conducted between UN Women and Thailand’s govenrment was the formulation of legislation towards women trafficking that is further implemented in the form of policy, strategy, and measurement intended for the prevention and abolishment of women trafficking within the period of 2011 until 2016
