Abstract :

The aim of the study was to know the morphology and the ultra structure of some species of Haemonchus sp. from sheep and goat slaughtered in Pegirian slaughter house Surabaya. The identification enables Carmine coloring for morphology of the worm and electron microscope scanning for the ultra structure. The result was two species of Haemonchus in goat and sheep from Pegirian slaughter house, there were Haemonchus contortus and Haemonchus similis. The ultra structure of H. contortus appear synlophe in incisive ridge, but the ultra structure of H. similis constructed synlophe in blunt ridge (like bitter mellon). The characteristic morphology of the H. similis is the vulva situated at the tip of the vulva flap, and the tip of the spiculae is wider than H. contortus.
